Workout Routine for Beginners

You’ve decided it’s time to start exercising. Congratulations! You’ve taken the first step on your way to a new and improved body and mind

Let’s start with this very important rule: NEVER OVERDO THE FIRST FEW SESSIONS. Many beginners to exercising fall for this trap, especially when they do not have qualified trainers with them. They get overly excited and lose patience. They try to produce in two weeks what often takes years to accomplish.

They begin by going all out right from the start doing as much as they can. The next day, their joints and muscles lock up in pain. Then, they get discouraged, stop exercising for a while and give it up altogether. Workouts should start out smooth and easy.

Here are 6 Exercise Tips For Beginners to help you get started

  1. Check In With Your Doctor.  It’s not a bad idea to get a check-up and a clean bill of health so you can start exercising
  2. Modify the Workout as Needed.  As a beginner be careful not to over do it. You’ll risk injury as well as potentially find yourself too exhausted to stick to the program.
  3. Choose the Right Exercises.  Low-impact exercises are best to start with, especially if you are overweight.  Walking, a recumbent bike, swimming, and a low-impact group fitness class are some great choices.
  4. Pick the Right Work Out Attire.  Spandex is actually a great material because it is supportive and it prevents chafing.  A loosely fitting workout shirt and shorts over spandex will do the trick.
  5. Eat, Drink and Manage Your Time: You’ll need proper nutrition, proper hydration, proper sleep and good time management so that you don’t miss out on your workout time.
  6. Have Everything You Need: Nothing will stop your workout in its tracks faster than suddenly realizing that you don’t have everything that you need to complete it.

The fact is, there is absolutely no legitimate argument against the benefits and practicality of exercise, especially when it comes to weight loss and management. Believe it or not, exercise CAN be fun.  It’s up to you to find something that you enjoy.
